Best In Show and Best Dog

Frost's Boris Sir Archie

Good head, neck and shoulders. Good topline and tailset. Well sprung ribs. Shows well. A good breed type.

Reserve Best Dog

Frost's Lostmelicence Samson

Nice size with a good clean outline. Pleasing head and expression, just a little short on foreface. A real showman

Reserve Best In Show and Best Bitch

Frost's Gertrude Lawrence

Feminine head and expression. Well balanced and nicely conditioned body. Good legs and feet.

Reserve Best Bitch

Frost's Szasza

At 7 years this bitch has a lovely shape, in first class condition. Feminine head, well placed ears, good dark eye, pleasing coat. Can still move with drive.

Best Puppy

Thomas' Mary Poppins

A very promising puppy at 4 months. She has a lovely head, neck and shoulders. Good topline and tailset. Just needs time.

General Observations

There are a number of dogs that are too high on the leg and too long in the back. Movement is also a problem both in front and behind. Some heads were short in foreface. I found only one undershot mouth and one dog that was not entire.

On the plus side, I found good dark eyes, well placed ears, correct mouths, tailsets and level toplines. Temperaments were extremely good.

Looking back to five years when I last judged the Lucas Terrier Show I found a definite improvement. There is a long way to go, but in my opinion you are on the right track.

My very best wishes to you all and thank you most sincerely for a most enjoyable day.

Jim Wilson (Judge)
