Lucas Terrier Club Show, 1st October 2006

It was a pleasure to judge the breed again. I first judged you 13 years ago, I then remember saying that you needed to concentrate on 'breed type' before other things and this I see you have done. There was a definite type throughout the Show. Points now you need to watch are movement, it should be a sound and free moving terrier. Presentation left a lot to be desired, coats need to be harsher if you want to be able to strip the breed like other terriers. I was a touch concerned about a few temperaments, this needs watching, they should not be shy nor aggressive to people, they should be able to mix with each other. Though males should be assertive with each other but not aggressive. I had a really pleasant day and did enjoy my day with you all and your dogs. Thanks to my stewards and the organisers.
