Critiques

Lucas Terrier Club Show held on Sunday 4th October 2009.

Judge: Shirley Watson

I enjoyed judging the Lucas Terrier but at times had to make some difficult decisions.

The puppy classes I thought looked to have a bright future and had the Lucas type you are looking for.

I could see the quality and type as one would expect when judging the winners and veterans but the classes in between lacked quality and movement, and soft coats were in evidence, but of course you would expect that because it is easier to clip than hand strip.

Temperaments were not too bad the odd grumble which is to be expected possibly jealousy when being shown by owners.

I found some rather long forefaces with bold and light eyes but most exhibits had good big teeth in all the classes with the odd exception .

The BIS showed quality and type although up to size her overall quality could not be denied, in fact this breeder had a very good type all through.

RBIS good dog again of good type, coat of correct texture, if short, excellent well muscled quarters moved well would have like him a shade smaller.
